The Film Employees’ Federation of South India (FEFSI) urged the Tamil Nadu government and the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and Tamil Film Active Producers Association (TFAPA) to reconsider the stoppage of work and the release of Tamil films starting September 1.
The stoppage arose from differences of opinions between the producers’ organisation and the theatre owners association. In their letter FEFSI stated that this work stoppage will affect the daily-wage workers and the regular crew on film sets the most.
FEFSI also urged TN Chief Minister Vijay and the concerned government authorities to mediate a solution that would not affect the regular workers whose family and lives depends on their work.
In September multiple Tamil films like Mandaadi, Karthik Subbaraj’s Dorothy, Hiphop Thamizha’s Meesaya Murukku 2, Karthi’s Sardar 2, GV Prakash Kumar’s Immortal are confirmed for a theatrical release.
