Social media posts showed large plumes of smoke in the vicinity of Myla, about 25 km (15 miles) west of the capital.

More than 370 people have already been evacuated, and rescue efforts are ongoing. At least 42 injuries have been reported, said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Oblast military administration, who posted an updated death toll on his Telegram.

At least 50 residential buildings were damaged in the attack, which sparked a large fire that spread to a restaurant and homes, according to Tkachenko.

Russia’s defense ministry said earlier that it had struck logistics centers and a warehouse in Kyiv and the surrounding region, without providing more detail, as well as sites in Ukraine’s Izmail and Nikolayev ports on the Black Sea, Interfax reported.

Overall, Ukraine sustained strikes across at least ten regions overnight, Zelenskyy said. More than 260 attack drones were involved, as well as Banderol drones.

“Kyiv is under virtually nonstop attack from jet-powered drones,” Zelenskyy said. “Ukraine cannot be left alone in finding solutions to defend against such strikes.”
