Often, in high-profile missing cases, attention saps with time, especially after the initial search found no results, but not in the Nancy Guthrie case.
That is what the crime reporter Brian Entin said, who has been following the case since the beginning.
He argued the anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mom case was not set aside as a cold case.
“With other cases that go cold, they might have one detective that looks into it every once in a while, or they say it’s technically still open. With this case, there’s a dedicated task force.”
Instead, multiple dedicated forces from FBI agents to Pima County detectives and other online sleuths have been diligently pursuing each lead.
He said, “There are still FBI agents and detectives whose entire full-time job is just the Nancy Guthrie case every single day, and they all meet together every single day.”
Entin believes the biggest potential breakthrough will come from DNA technology.
“I also have faith in the DNA,” he told Us Weekly.
“I’ve learned a lot about how much that technology is changing, and just other parts of science. There are advances every single week.”
“They’re able to do things they weren’t able to do not that long ago with DNA testing. I’m hopeful that eventually there’ll be a break on that front,” he added.
That said, Entin continued to express hope about the unanswered questions about Nancy.
“I really still feel that there’s going to be a resolution and that [detectives are] going to solve it. I just know through my sources how many people are working behind the scenes.
Nancy has been missing since Feb 1 from her home near Tucson, Arizona.
