On the occasion of Chiranjeevi’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming film with director Bobby Kolli announced the title and unveiled a glimpse from the film. Produced by Venkat K Narayana under the KVN Production banner, the film was earlier tentatively titled Mega158. Now, the makers have revealed the title as Kaaka and released a glimpse from the film. Along with the title, they also announced that the film will hit screens on January 13, 2027, during the Sankranthi festival.
In the video glimpse, Chiranjeevi plays K Satyam, a supervisor at Ammaji Aqua Industries. He is seen greeting everyone at the workplace and assuring the Chennai team over the phone that the load will arrive on time. However, director Bobby Kolli clearly hints that Chiranjeevi is not just playing an ordinary supervisor and that there is something more to Satyam’s character.
When Sunil approaches Satyam with a leave request, Satyam denies it and says that their target is the festival. Later, Getup Srinu tells him about the scooter keys given by his daughter, and Chiranjeevi asks him to throw them away. The keys accidentally fall into the water, but a dog brings out a remote, which Satyam uses to retrieve the keys with a magnet. Interestingly, guns emerge along with the keys.
Chiranjeevi is then revealed as a middle-aged man wearing glasses, followed by the title reveal of Kaaka. The glimpse then takes the audience into a flashback, where a young and stylish Chiranjeevi is introduced in a powerful gun-firing sequence.
Director Bobby Kolli, who previously worked with Chiranjeevi on Waltair Veerayya, is teaming up with the megastar once again for Kaaka. Going by the glimpse, Bobby seems to have once again found a different way to present Chiranjeevi, while retaining the mass appeal that connects strongly with his fans.
Another interesting aspect of the glimpse is the use of the popular song ‘Chiku Chiku Chelam’ from Chiranjeevi’s earlier film Gang Leader in the background. The iconic song’s remix, incorporated into the background score by music director S Thaman, adds an extra layer of nostalgia and swagger to the glimpse and is sure to enthral Chiranjeevi fans.
Anaswara Rajan is part of the cast in a pivotal role, while the film boasts a strong technical team comprising cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, production designer Avinash Kolla, editor Antony L Ruben and writers Kona Venkat, K Chakravarthy Reddy, Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri. Bhanu-Nandu penned the dialogues.
The glimpse introduces the world of Kaaka while giving audiences a clear taste of its scale, mood and protagonist. More importantly, it suggests that Bobby Kolli is attempting to give Chiranjeevi a characterisation that fans have not seen before. The film is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on January 13, 2027, during the Sankranthi season.
