Actor Wamiqa Gabbi took to social media to pen a note dedicated to her brother, actor Puran Gabbi who is a part of the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Awarapan 2. The post comes hours after the trailer for the film was released.

"Today is a very emotional day for me. What makes this trailer even more special isn’t just that my brother Puran Gabbi is the antagonist in Awarapan 2… it’s how he got here. He auditioned, met the team, got shortlisted, got finalized, signed the film… and only much later, in a casual conversation, did they discover that he’s my brother," wrote Wamiqa.

She added, "That gave both of us a strange sense of peace. Because his place in this film wasn’t earned through my journey… it was earned through his own. As someone who’s spent years building every step from scratch, I know how easily someone else’s hard work can get overshadowed by a familiar surname. I’m so grateful that never happened here. This is your victory. Your patience, your passion, your countless unseen hours. I couldn’t be prouder. Go scare the world."

Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui. It is set to open in theatres on August 14.

Meanwhile Wamiqa will be seen alongside Lokesh Kanagaraj, in Arun Matheswaran's DC which is set to release tomorrow.
